Finally!

Finally she's here...finally I'm posting her...finally finally finally.

I've waited a long time for this. (So why am I this late in posting?? I snuck out of town for the weekend to get a break from being a mommy, so that is why the late posting. ) I don't even know where to start. Thursday, July 23rd, Abbott Clare arrived weighing in at 9lbs 12 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. I have experienced the excitement of delivery day three times now, but to experience it from the other side of the room was SOOOO incredibly different. It was overwhelming really. To watch a couple that is so dear to me wait for their first born to make her debut was so exciting that I thought I would burst.

2:30 am.....a text "my water just broke". I couldn't sleep; do I go to the hospital? Do I patiently wait? I've never been on this end of things.

6:00 am...I can't sleep. I'm going even if she is 2.5 cm.

7:20 am...arrive at the hospital. Epidural already in place...we are set, let the party begin.

11:00am...already complete.....Dr. D will be here soon....wait..wait...wait. What is it about babies that you just have to keep waiting? Em and Adam had been waiting for 41 weeks, so seriously why make her wait? Of course there was a good reason, but as she had the last 41 weeks, Em waited patiently for the Dr. to arrive.

Sometime after that, the push party began. Em was a trooper....2 steps forward, 3 steps back...and then at 2:22 pm...Abbott Clare was born. GASP....gahh lee...she must be 9 pounds...no maybe she's 10 pounds. As the estimates went out, Adam and Emily just stared in that moment of unspeakable emotion. They placed that sweet baby on the scale and BAM! Almost 10 pounds. I've not seen my sister that shocked very many times!!!

So there you have it. Mom, Dad, and baby are doing well. Em and Adam congratulations on your healthy baby girl! You guys are going to be wonderful parents, and I'm so happy she's finally here. I'll post a whole slide show later...I only have a few hundred pictures to weed through.

41 weeks....and not counting any more

Tomorrow is the day! Emmy went in tonight to prep for tomorrow's arrival of baby girl Abbott. Poor Em....lots of folks deliver early, lots of folks deliver late, but when it's you, and you are late....it feels like such an injustice!!! She has handled it gracefully though...one snow cone at a time! HA! Our routine for the last three weeks has been to get her out of the house for a snow cone almost every day! I've stooped as low as to borrow tooth fairy money to make it happen! Don't worry I'll repay. It's been a treat for me, but I know she's tired of waiting. So the long wait is ending. I can't wait to report tomorrow that Abbott is here!

Em has that "are you seriously taking my picture at 41 weeks" look on her face. Of course I am. If you weren't so beautiful then I wouldn't!

The G man thought this was a laughing matter I suppose. I posted a video below of nothing more than him just LAUGHING! These days, this kid is either laughing or crying. And one thing he is NOT doing is WALKING! I know you are tired of hearing me belly ache about his lack of two leggedness. BUT! It seemed easier with Mary (walked at almost 16 mo), who didn't crawl until she was close to a year. Not Garrett. He's been crawling for 7 or 8 months now. That is a LONG time when you have to tote him to gymnastics and swimming lessons, etc. UGgh...the thing is, he's showing no signs of heading in the upright direction. I feel sure he's at LEAST a month away....and I've been saying that for MONTHS! Surely by 18 months...that's my goal...seriously can you believe that.

Now this was NO laughing matter. He's so going to pay them back in the not too distant future.

Ready.....
Aim.........
FIRE!!!!
Thanks Nanna for the guns...ha! They only shoot 30 feet. And the kicker is that on the side of the label, there was a warning. DO NOT AIM AT OTHER PERSONS! Oh well...

Enjoying the "hot air"

We went to see the balloons last night with some long time friends! The girls were cautiously excited, but they were not too thrilled about the fire and the noise. Allie is no fan of fire as we've discovered the past several years, but she came around.

It was very surreal...and as beautiful as I have heard that it was.

They count down ....5-4-3-2-1....and light them up at the same time.

Oooooo.....aaaaahhhhh.

They don't look as impressed as they really were.

Little "T" , however, was quite impressed. "Balloons go UP!"

Fun with Video

I've taken many many splotchy videos with my cam, so I was determined to figure out what to do with them. Right under my nose on my computer is Imovie....what fun? I put together some swimming footage from today. You just choose a theme, and a ridiculously appropriate song to go with it! Here is the result!

It's like pulling teeth around here........to get quality help!

Allie has been wiggling her top tooth for months, and today was the day. Pulling teeth has not been my job....just hearing that popping noise makes me cringe, and seeing as NOTHING makes hubs cringe, he takes care of it. If you make it through all the random pics I've posted, you HAVE to watch the video of Allie at the bottom. Emma Cate was over this afternoon before they went to gymnastics, so the "event" was more dramatic than usual since Allie had an audience.

There is one less popsicle stained tooth than usual.

Here is the quality help I was speaking of. I walked in and hubs had Mary hoisted up in the TV vault as I call it. She was holding a flashlight so he could see to work on his repair job. I guess she was a good "fit" for the job.

A few days ago, I took the girls behind our hous to play in the dirt...now that is a dirt pile. They loved it!

....and there is a smile to prove it.

Followed by the slip and slide, but Garrett went straight for the watermelon.

What is with Mary being my super duper poser these days?? My lens fogged up due to the 100% humidity, but I still snapped a sweet smile.

We were 2 for 2 for the darker skin tone so far....and then came G baby. Where do you think he got his skin tone??? Definitely not from hubs:( Poor kid.

Water logged

Swimming Lessons 09...Check! Mary and Allie were in lessons the last couple of weeks, and let me say that G baby is REALLY happy that they are done. Allie was tired of the pool as well, but Mary had a blast. Her class is much more fun because they play games in the water the majority of the time.

I posted a clip below of Mary swimming...she has come a long way since the beginning of the summer when she wouldn't put her face in. I'm actually very surprised that it is clicking with her because she's always been a bit behind the rest physically....walked late, jumped late, etc. For this reason, I'm really excited with how well she's doing! She's especially proud of herself...now if we can make it through the summer without her jumping in without her floatie, that would be great. I really hate this age!!!!

Dog days of summer

This baby girl needs a name, and no I'm not talking about Em's babe. We are officially on baby watch with the coming of July, but I'm talking about the cute little four legged girly below. Em has a great pal here who adopted a sweet little pup yesterday, and she has NOT EVEN GIVEN HER A NAME!!! Allie and Mary threw out some suggestions...Lucy was the first which is what Em's friend had already stated she'd really liked. I suggested Lilly at some point seeing that Em has a "LOLA" at home, and one would assume these two pups will become great pals.Cast your vote so Katie (em's friend) can decide.

Garrett stood up for the occasion. He'd doing more of that...still not walking! He is saying "more" with his hand very readily as opposed to banging his hands on the tray and screaming! Stay tuned for more signs of humanity...boys are a different breed for sure.

It's hard waiting on a baby.

Look at that face!
Ok this is totally random. My friend mamma lion has roped me into the world of digital scrapbooking. She's AMAZING at it, and I'm wasting all my free time trying. It's so fun and definitely getting easier...hence the new header! I can upload this page to shutterfly...sweet!
